In one paragraph

Cat Mahjong 3in1 is three complete mahjong games in a single offline app — American, Hong Kong Cantonese and Southern Vietnamese — each with its own rules engine and its own AI, not a reskin of one another. It was built by a solo developer in Hong Kong so that his mother, who never learned to play online, could practise at her own pace. That is why nothing in it is timed, nothing needs a connection, and nothing asks for money twice.

The short version (one line)

Three mahjong traditions, one offline app, one payment. No timers, no ads, no subscription.

Why this, why now

Three rule sets, three engines

American Mahjong Card-based play with a full Charleston passing phase, jokers as wild tiles and exposures. Includes a built-in card editor: enter the hands you actually play, set values, mark them concealed or shiftable, save several cards and switch between them.
Hong Kong Mahjong Classic Cantonese play with 19 faan patterns and an optional three-faan minimum. Pong, kong, chow, self-draw and robbing the kong. Choose the discard payout rule (full or split).
Vietnamese Mahjong The Southern 160-tile set with 8 wild jokers plus flowers, seasons, kings and queens. Phán / Mủn scoring, with the Vietnamese calls (phỗng, khàng, ăn, tự mò, ù) kept intact.

Developer quotes, free to use

“My mother has played mahjong her whole life and never once played it on a phone. Every app either rushed her with a timer or asked her to sign in. I wanted one that just waits.”
“Three sets of rules meant three separate engines. American mahjong scores from a card, Hong Kong scores from faan, Vietnamese scores from phán. You cannot fake that with a shared codebase and a different tile skin.”
“A subscription for a game that runs entirely on your own phone, with no server anywhere, never made sense to me. You pay once. It is yours.”
